History at a Glance:
Rao Bahadur Sri Kandukuri Veeresa Lingam Pantulu established the Hithakarini Samajam to educate the people.
Sri Kandukuri Veeresalingam Theistic college
Established in
1972
with commerce and humanities courses later in 1980 – 81 academic year. B.Sc courses was started with
Maths, Physics, and Chemistryand
Chemistry, Botany and Zoology groups.
Department was one of the first science department in SKVT Degree college. Department steadily grew in strength as to get recognition in Andhra University region.
In 1980 the department established with prestigious group M.P.CHEMISTRY and another group combination with Life Sciences Chemistry, Botany and Zoology 72 (36 + 36).
In the next academic year
1981 - 82
another group related with
Chemistry combinate with Botany and statistics started with strength 12 members.
But, due to financial viabilities and law admissions, course was closed in 1999.
To expand the department
In 1997
Industrial Chemistry (Mathematics, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry)started
with 36 members and run successfully upto 2003 and in
2004 PGcourses started with
specialization Organic Chemistry with and Analytical Chemistryrun successfully for 10 years, later that those courses also closed.
Now the college is absorbed into Governmentin 14th of July 2022and department is running successfully with extra seats in MPC and CBZ groups as 50 + 50.
About the Department
Major Md.Nadimulla, M.A.,
Introduces the department as the principal of the college. Under his able leader ship, science courses were introduced in the college in 1980 and a new B.A. Section was also introduced with English as the medium of instruction. The department became strong with students in take by the introduction of the combinations.

the department was admitted into Grant-in-aid along with the college and actively participated in all directions in the development of the institution and became one of the popular department of the college.
